Willow Tree Class News

 Scottish Week

 

We had a whole school Scottish week and did lots of Scottish activities.  Willow class read 2 Scottish poems, read recipes to make shortbread and visited Pilrig Park school for a special Burn’s lunch.

Planting

 

Willow class planted Daffodil bulbs for a competition.  We used water, soil, trowels, a watering can, pots, bulbs and our hands to plant them.  We left them outside to grow and now they are starting to bloom.

Holyrood Park Ranger/Artist Project

Willow class have been really lucky to be chosen to do a project at Holyrood Park with the Ranger Service and local artists.  We go there every Wednesday for a whole days hard work!

Senses

We have been doing lots of walking at Holyrood Park and used our senses to find different things.  We were blindfolded and had to use our hearing to find our way around.

Jewellery

We were learning about the Iron Age at Holyrood Park.  After meeting lots of Iron Age people in the park we went back to the centre and made jewellery with a hand made drill.
